The unique award winning
design of Cleveland's first MRI included
such features as enclosure in a full copper
envelope to shield from radio waves and
heavy timber roof structure with tapered roof deck to achieve a curved
appearance.
Special connections for the
timber dome were made of non-magnetic
stainless steel. Craftsmanship awards were
received for self-performed timber
construction, finish carpentry, and masonry.
